2. A goal is a desired end. This does not
explain exactly what a goal is but I will
clarify.
There’s a vision and a goal. The difference
between them is that a vision is long term
picture of where you will end. And a goal is
the many steps you will need to reach that
end. While a task is the little things you do
on a daily basis that result to that end.
So to achieve a goal you need to know
where you are going and the little steps you
need to get there. Let’s look at the goal
achievement secrets of millionaires. Shall
we?
3. Refuse to be average and go beyond what
people refer to as normal.
In doing so you will be termed as abnormal.
And everyone will run away from you. If this
happens to you, learn to stay with the
millionaires and seek their advice. They all
did this, they all were rejected at some
point and they all coped with it. So you will
survive if you take heed to their advice. This
is why millionaires keep millionaire friends.
They are of the same blood group and think
the same and referred to as abnormal
Go beyond the normal
4. In life you need money. Money to live today
and tomorrow and so on. You make a budget
of what you need and purchase. Have you
ever made a budget for life? Writing down
what you need in life.
A shopping list of what you will ever need in
life. To do this, stand in the position of your
future self. And picture what you have and
write it down. All of it. Then put a price on
everything and come up with the total. Then
double the total because the economy will
have changed by then.
Calculate the monthly costs of bills.
The shopping list of life
5. Input vs output
This future self is at least 20 years from now.
That is what I would consider a vision. What
you will be in the next 20 years.
Input is what you put in. It’s an amount of
effort, expertise and work you put into your
project or goals. Output is a measurable
efficiency of productivity. Output is not the
only measure of productivity but just a
single unit. How productive you are can be
measured by other factors. Like for example,
the time you take to finish up a task, the
quality of your results and also the quality
of your planning.
6. In simple terms what you put in is what you
get. It’s not necessarily the amount of effort
but the quality. When executing a perfectly
laid out plan you are going to get an
outstanding output.
These kinds of results will make you more
motivated to finish your future goals.
Do it now
Why do it later? This is the puzzle scientists
keep on asking when dealing with the issue
of productivity. If you could do it now why
do it later?
7. If you push one item in your list for
tomorrow you will be forced to push two
items in your list for the day after tomorrow.
This will lead to a gradual overload until one
day you will crash and push all tasks for
later. Due to overwhelm.
So just do it now.
Details
When writing your to-do-list you often just
write the following
- Finish my business plan
- Make a business call
- My online business social media posting
8. - Take a break
- Write content for my blog
- Plan tomorrow’s tasks
Assuming that this is your to-do-list items.
This list is full of vague statements. You are
supposed to be so specific and detailed
such that even if someone found it they
could take it from there.
Meaning it has all the necessary details for
someone else to do it for you without
contacting you.
It could be something like this
Business plan at 7am on Tuesday 20th
September 2020 – work on balancing the
sheet for cashflow, net worth, gross income,
start up cost and net profit. Balance net
sales to 20%. Research notes are on my
laptop. Located at the desktop and the
folder is named business plan.
9. Estimated time to complete is 3 hours.
Blocked time and no break. High focus
needed.
Make a business call at 10am Tuesday 20th
September 2020 – Call John Doe and ask the
following questions. How did you know
about us? Was our support team helpful?
Were all your questions answered? In the
scale of 1-10 where 1 is poor and 10 is
excellent, how would you rate our service?
Estimated time of call is 10 minutes
(including call waiting, call holding and
possible missed calls or network related
issues.) Keep the answers in a spreadsheet
and deliver to my boss via email
immediately.
That is more specific and you could ask your
neighbor to do it for you.
10. One time my friend Simone was in a hall
preparing for a conference. So an emergency
happened and they had to move to another
section of the venue. That meant that they
had to do things fast and try to make it on
time despite the delays due to the last
minute changes. So they rushed, looked
busy and everything seemed working and
moving quickly. It sounded busy because of
movement of chairs and equipment. So a
millionaire came in. He was the
administrator of the event. He went to the
front and stood there. He looked around for
about two minutes. Then he called the
coordinator and asked, “Why is there too
much going on and too little happening?”
The coordinator did not understand. So he
told him everyone is busy and doing
everything with speed. When you listen
you’ll assume there is progress. But when
you analyze the results there is almost
nothing happening.
Busy vs progress vs speed vs outcome
11. When the coordinator told me this story I
learnt my lesson. So the coordinator
reassigned everyone and a quick outcome
was evident.
It was simple
Group tasks together and complete.
Prioritize what is important and have many
people doing it.
The less priority items leave them for later
but finish when that time comes.
Reassign manpower after they are through
with their important tasks.
It all boils down to planning.
Stay on the road to success

12. Success is one of the terms that is difficult
to define. It’s not the amount of wealth or
money you accumulate. It’s not the lifestyle
you achieve.
It’s rather the achievement you make in life.
The reason why it is difficult to define is
because everyone has their own definition of
success. So how can you define that?
But the key principles of success are related
to future planning. See yourself in the future
and create a roadmap that leads to that
destination.
Your dream is your target
My
Dream
My
Dream
13. Your dream is the world you create of your
future self. It’s a world so it must have
weather conditions, nature, growth, people,
family, economy, government and so on. So
the big question is what do you want this
world to be like, feel like and look like?
That is your dream. So make it your target.
And what you should normally do with a
target is to reach it. Make all your goals lead
to this target.
Passion is the ticket to your success
In every journey you may need a ticket of
some kind to reach it. Only when you are
driving yourself will you need documents of
authenticity.
14. These documents will prove you're qualified
to drive and the car you are driving is
registered.
But that is your ticket to reach where you
are going. If you have clean papers or a
clean ticket you will reach your desired
destination. Why I’m I using the word
desired? Because you may desire to go
somewhere but your papers or documents
cannot allow you.
And passion is that clean ticket. If you have
passion in everything you are doing then
you will attain ultimate success.
