2. Working Title Idea for Our Film
Trailer…
We decided on a working title called “Tardigrade” for our horror/zombie film title,
which are eight legged, segmented microscopic organisms . We thought his was a
unique and creative idea for a zombie film title because it has never been used
before.
It further links to the concept of our film because the microscopic organisms link to
the zombie virus created in our film. The way zombie virus spreads also links because
Tardigrades are water-dwelling organisms, which is one of many ways our virus can
spread globally.
4. It is a typical convention for horror/zombie
themed films to have a specific type of font for
their film title.
The font of most titles generally appear to be
distorted, either depicting slime, blood,
scratches, etc.
For example…
The “Night of the Living Dead” film title
consists of a scratched up font,
appearing as though someone has
carved and written the writing very
violently. This creates effect because it
links to the violence that the actual film
consists of having.
5. The “Dawn of the Dead” film title
consists of a bold red font, then
transitions off the screen
appearing as trickles of splattered
blood.
This is an effective example of
horror/zombie film title
representation because the colour
red connotes blood, danger and
violence, which are the main
factors the storyline of the film
consists of.
The transition of the film title
appearing as blood splatter
further adds to the effect and
highlights the gory side of the film.
6. When presenting our film title in our trailer, we need to think about
factors such as, font style, colour and transitions.
There are various different ways and methods of presenting our film title
in our trailer effectively that are shown within existing title presentations
and sequences.
The presentation style for our film title “Tardigrade” will be influence by
the existing titles categorised in the horror-zombie genre previously
analysed .
