Todd Willing
Title: Design Director, Ford Asia Pacific
Todd Willing is Design Director for Asia Pacific at Ford Motor Company, based in Melbourne. In
this role he leads all design concepts and themes for exterior and interior for all vehicles for the
region, and supports Ford’s global design initiatives.
Willing’s first work experience came as a 15-year-old in the Ford Australia design studio in
Broadmeadows. After eight years working with an automotive design agency, he began his
career with Ford in 2003. He was most recently at Ford’s studio in Dearborn, Michigan, working
as chief exterior designer for the new Ford Taurus and Ford GT. He also was chief designer of
the Escort for China.
Willing’s credits include China versions of Mondeo and Fiesta, the global Focus sedan, and
designs of the 2011 Territory SUV, Falcon FGii car range and the 2012 Ford Figo car for India.
He also led the design team behind the “Mad Max” interceptor concept.
Willing is a native of Hobart, Tasmania, and received his degree in Industrial Design from
Monash University, Australia, in 1995.
