Minister of Police Nathi Nhleko released a report defending President Jacob Zuma and the expenditures at his private Nkandla residence. The FF Plus chief whip Dr. Corné Mulder criticized the report, saying it was a desperate attempt by the ANC to defend the indefensible and would become part of Zuma's legacy. Mulder said Nhleko's findings, as a political appointee of Zuma, were predictable in declaring Zuma not responsible for any costs. Mulder also said claiming structures like a swimming pool and cattle kraal were necessary for security was laughable and would not be the last word on the matter.
