2. Abstract
Our system was implemented by several efficient
technologies.
[1] Ruby on Rails(ROR) is framework for develop web
applications. It supported to build our system based n the
Model-View-Controller(MVC) architecture.
[2] IBM db2 is Relational Database Management
System(RDBMS). We designed an XML Database to store
book data.
[3] A bar code reader was used to input ISBN(International
Standard Book Number).
[4] Amazon Product Advertising API has doing the system
can automatically access book data.
[5] Gmail was using as confirmation mail when users borrow
books. .

Motivation and Problem Statement
Nagura's GT thesis in 2011 developed a book
management system.
The system has several problems.
1. An old system has only English-page.
2. A borrower can not realize to late to return a book.
3. Users can not search books easily.
4. Users can not find location of book in laboratory.

Methods
1. A new system has not only English-page but
also Japanese-page using ruby on rails.
2. The system send a confirmation mail for
borrower automatically.
3. The system is changed a “searching” and
“location” interface.

A new system has many blanks for input
keywords in a “searching” interface. Users can
search books quickly.
The system shows location of books by graphic
and characters. Users does not spend a long time
to find book they would like to read.

7. Summary
There are four parts that is improved in a new
system.
We implemented an old system using ruby on
rails.
It is easy to search books for people in our
laboratory that how to use a new system.

8. Future Work
When a user register a book, it takes a long time
because data input uses a keyword. To solve this
problem, generate a bar code containing the
location information and paste it in the book. And,
to speed it up, read it using a bar-code reader.
