9. RECOMMENDED TELEVISION BRANDS AND
SPECIFICATION NEEDED FOR SPORTS VIEWING
The use of LG electronics and Samsung commercial grade electronic brand
television is recommended for optimal sports viewing in high definition.
The use of commercial grade is also recommended. Consumer models
lifespan is half of commercial grade televisions. Commercial grade have
greater picture output to work with lighting found in a public environment.
If using a modulated distribution system you need each TV to have a tuner
built in. A matrix system needs a component/RGB or HDMI input on each
television. Control systems require RS-232 which is only on commercial
models. Use only total L.E.D televisions. LCD & LCD/LED are old technology
and don’t give as good of a picture as true L.E.D. type television.
Television's should handle 1080p and have a refresh rate of 240Hz
10. VIDEO PROJECTION SYSTEMS

The use of consumer grade projectors is not recommended – if your going to do it, do it right
11. PROJECTION SCREENS DO’S & DON’T
ONE OF THE WORST THINGS TO HAVE TO WATCH IS A PROJECTION SCREEN IN A
RESTAURANT THAT IS VERY DIM OR POOR IMAGE QUALITY.
ON THE AVERAGE A PROJECTOR USING HIGH OUTPUT USE WILL LAST AN
AVERAGE OF 1200 HOURS. After that you can notice dimming.
When used in a hospitality environment you will change bulbs at least 4 times a
year to maintain picture quality.
Single bulb replacement cost per year average $1200.00 ( $300.00 per bulb )
Dual bulb replacement cost per year average $2400.00 ( $300.00 per bulb )
You need to be able to support the bulb cost of each projector to maintain
an exceptional picture for customer satisfaction. Guest look at poor projector
pictures as a sign of not being able to maintain business. Do you want that!
12. FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT USING
TELEVISONS OR PROJECTORS THAT ARE NOT
COMMERCIAL GRADE
USE ONLY COMMERCIAL GRADE TELEVISONS OR PROJECTORS.
CONSUMMER MODELS ARE MADE FOR SHORT PERIODS OF BEING ON WITH LONG PERIODS OF BEING OFF. A
COMMERCIAL MODEL IS MADE FOR LONG PERIODS ON AND SHORT PERIODS OFF.
WHEN A CONSUMER TV/PROJECTOR ARE USED IN A COMERCIAL ENVIROMENT THE WARRANTY REVERTS TO 90 DAYS.
WHEN IN FOR SERVICE THEY CAN SEE THE AVERAGE HOURS TV OR PROJECTOR HAS BEEN ON AND THE MOUNT OF
HOURS ACCOMULATED OVER THE TELEVISIONS/PROJECTORS LIFESPAN. You can’t fool them.
SPECIAL NOTE: WHEN BUYING PROJECTOR BULBS ONLY BUY DIRECT FROM PROJECTOR MANUFACTURER. BULBS
FROM OTHER SOURCES MAY SAY OEM BUT WON’T BE HONERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE
PROBLEM PROJECTORS FAIL. NON PROJECTOR MANUFACTERED BULBS RUN HOTTER AND BURN UP PROJECTOR.

18. BLUE PRINTS FOR SPORTS VIEWING & ENTERTAINMENT
SOUND SYSTEMS
Dinning area speakers should be no smaller then 8in. With a
power handling of 150 watts max and a high SPL rating.
Using this type of speaker lets you use an EQ to enhance the
lower bass response without the use of sub-woofers.
Bar area speakers should be no smaller the 12in. With a
power handling of 300 watts max and a high SPL rating.
The use of a ceiling mounted sub-woofer is highly
recommended. This type of system will deliver the pounding
sounds of football and the screeching shoes on the court…
extreme highs and lows, just like at the game. When not showing
sports this system offers exceptional music playback at high
levels to sustain a late night crowd.
19. DIRECTV RECEIVERS SHOULD BE HOOKED INTO YOUR NETWORK
SYSTEM. This will make you able to control all your receivers
from any Ipad device. Very cool option from DIRECTV. The app
is tied into your account and has many features that give you
total control from anywhere at any time… your phone, pc or
tablet. A must in the hospitality industry.
More advanced systems require RS-232 control on the
televisions. This enables all types of remote control systems to
share the same protocol needed to control a specific brand
and model TV or AV equipment.
Televisions used at tables or booths should be commercial
grade which offer disabling the channel & volume control at TV.
Unwanted or loud TV audio can be controlled or eliminated.
