4. Paheli
• Paheli is a progressive folklore. The story is about a wife who
is left by her husband and visited by a ghost, disguised as her
husband who is in love with her and takes her husband`s
place.
• The thought behind the film is, it talks about the
emancipation of a women.
• The tale creates an invincible character, a ghost that fills the
void in the women`s life the void left by her husband. This
ghost set an example of a perfect man that all the women
wants in her life as there better half.
5. Legal Aspects
• Right of an individual to live is as old as humanity.
• Despite the fact that all human beings are equal, women in
India are being victimised.
• Major reason behind this illegitimate behaviour is that women
in India are not aware of their basic rights.

7. Conclusion
• Post- verdict period brought restrictions on women’s rights
and privileges. Position of Indian women did not improve in
medieval period but further degraded.
• Present context: “To reaffirm faith in fundamental human
rights of men and women, discrimination in the enjoyment of
human rights is prohibited under the principle Human rights
instruments.”
