- 1. What have youlearned about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Technology/ site used Why we used it Strengths Weaknesses What we learnt Slideshare To upload our PowerPoints from microsoft, for example: Codes and Conventions of Horror and our Questionnaire Results. Easy to use, we had to only make PowerPoints on Microsoft and upload onto the website. Such as our, questionnaire results and script. Also quick to upload onto the website. We had difficulties uploading our slide shares onto our blogs, but eventually we overcame it. Another way to produce different information in various ways and interesting ways. Youtube To upload our Preliminary Task, Film Pitch and Final Opening Sequence. Also to upload various videos onto a blog from other horror movies. Easy to use, accessible, provided more information for us. Also uploading our videos was easy and quick. When uploading to our blogs we had difficulty finding our own videos. We learn that there are various ways we can upload onto our blogs, easy accessible ways. Camera: To film our preliminary task, our film pitch and opening horror sequence. New, updated camera. Easy to use and upload onto the mac computer. Difficulty to film in certain lights/rooms/settings. When we filmed in places such as graveyards we had great difficulty to film. Also the battery life was a negative, as we could only use the camera for a certain amount of time. How to film with the camera more efficiently and use lighting. Also how to use technology and became confident with it. Computer/iMovie We used the mac computer in our school and used iMovie to edit our opening sequence. The new software and mac computer allowed us to decide out of many editing Because we had never used this before, we had difficulty using it at first. It is a complicated software, but after we used it a few times we were comfortable with it. We learnt how to use the new software, also the editing software was successful.
- 2. Twitter To inform ourtarget audience on our new “film”. Just like production companies such as Working Title, we made our own social networking sites such as Twitter and Tumblr to update our audience. This would be one of our ways to attract mass audiences for our film. Twitter and Tumblr are fairly simple to use and quick to upload our recent updates. This is why our target audience use these sort of websites to interact with friends. We used this to update people on our opening sequence and our production company. We didn’t have many followers on our accounts, this is due to only having a small production company. However, if were to have our own production company this would be a great marketing technique to attract a young audience and keep them informed. We now have an increased knowledge on both the websites and how to use them. Also how to upload from our phones and computers instantly.Tumblr Phones/Dropbox To upload our videos and pictures throughout the filming to the opening sequence. Quick and easy to upload from phones to the website/computer. We found this helpful if we didn’t have the camera to hand and found good spots to film in/ we used them for our location shots. If we had videos to upload it took a considerable amount of time to upload, this may be because of the phone. This is why we only used our phones little compared to the camera that we linked up to the computer which was fast. We learnt that the convergence of the phone is very advanced. We could use the phone to take pictures and instantly upload it onto our blogs (BLOGGER) and the website. Also to the social networking sites.
