the various shapes of men, and that there are more descriptive terms attached to the original three
shapes. They used to be known as Rounded, Skinny, or Broad and everyone was fitted into one of
the broad general categories. Researchers with the menswear firm have now identified seven basic
shapes. These are known as the Nacho, Pear, String Bean, Tomato, Brick, Snowman and Cucumber.

The Pear Body Shape
The survey was self-administered. The terms described how Brits
viewed themselves. Nearly half admitted that they were going a little
soft around the middle. This is the shape labeled Pear. Celebrities
Michael McIntyre and Ricky Gervais are good examples of this type
of physique.

2. The Cucumber Body Shape
The next largest group of physique types reached fifteen
percent. These are the men who call themselves a Cucumber
shape. As you might imagine, the figure is straight up and
down. There are no bulges or over-sized areas to break the
smooth lines. Celebrity Andrew Flintoff has this type of
physique, with no extra weight.
The Brick Body Shape
Another group calls themselves Bricks. This figure shape
reached ten percent in number. The body is broader than the
Cucumber. Robbie Williams is an example of this type of figure
from among the celebrities of today.
The Tomato Body Shape
Also self-described is the group defined as Tomatoes. They
are another nearly ten percent of all British males. These are
men who are slightly chubby and round like the tomato. An
example of this physique category among the celebrities is
Eamonn Holmes.
The Nacho Body Shape
About five percent, or one male in twenty claim to be a Nacho
figure type. This is the person who has broad shoulders and a
slim waist. Tom Daly is built in this style.

At 4.3 percent each. The String Bean types and the Snowman types are respectively very skinny and
lean or a figure eight shape, with rounded curves above and below the waist level. The String Bean is
exemplified in the build of Bradley Wiggins. The celebrities who are described as Snowman shaped
are Robbie Coltrane and James Corden.
