1. South Miami Rental Apartment BY ROBIN LECHNER DESIGNS
The heart of Miami draws tens of thousands of young business men and women who want to
work, live, and play in upscale buildings that provide every amenity. One of my long time NY
clients called me looking for investment property, and we found a one bedroom apartment in
one of the most sought after buildings in Miami.
As a rental apartment, we wanted a neutral design scheme without looking like bland
oatmeal. Since the walls, ceiling, and floor are white, and the kitchen cabinetry is wood, we
decided on black - white - walnut as the primary color palette with red as the accent.
The only difficulties were 20' ceilings which visually threw the rooms out of proportion – like
shoe boxes placed on end. Using layered lighting, mirrors, artwork, and creative use of the
color scheme, the solution for each area was resolved.
