Optical Zoom is when you zoom in when you are taking a photo. For example you might be
shooting with a 55- 300mm lens and you’re on 140mm which isn't enough so you can
increase your optical zoom by switching to 300mm.
Digital Zoom is when you zoom in on a photo after you have taken it. Like when you crop a

4. How a DLSR camera works
First off light comes in through the lens
Multiple glass elements focuses the light on the sensor
The aperture has multiple blades which allow more or
less light to enter
Then the light hits the focusing elements
It then bounces off the reflex and rely mirror
Into the condenser lens and the focusing screen
The light then reflects in the pentaprism
Then into the view finder
5. Camera modes
Macro is a camera mode that is for capturing things
that are up close like flowers and insects.
Night setting allows a longer shutter speed so that you
can capture as much detail as you can
Portrait in this mode the camera will use a larger
aperture to keep the background soft
