By: Shayla Blackburn
Analyze the Learner
• The students are in seventh grade, there are
15 boys and 23 girls. Out of the 38 students
there are 14 African American students, 12
Caucasian, and 12 Hispanic students.
Main Objective
• The students should be able to know the
difference between words and their meanings,
to produce well formed sentences. Students
should be able to effectively communicate and
use proper punctuation as well as choosing
wise word choices.
Day by Day Breakdown
• Day 1- I will write sentences on the board, and have students come
up and correct them in the best way that they can.
• Day 2-We will correct the sentences from the previous day, and I
will discuss and review as well as give them handouts of rules and
examples of proper grammar techniques.
• Day 3- I will show a video of a texting conversation on YouTube and
ask my students to come up and point out the mistakes. We will
review the rules of grammar handout that I gave them previously
again.
• Day 4- I will do an open discussion and ask them why they think
grammar is important. Afterwards, I will assign them ten homework
questions from our book and they will be expected to turn it in on
Friday.
• Day 5- We will go over the homework and I will give them the
points that they earned.
Use of technology
• I will use YouTube and the Smartboard.
