MARKET COMMENTARY
The market may open firm on positive Asian stocks.
Trading of CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock
exchange indicates that the Nifty could surge 43 points
at the opening bell. Asian markets edged higher on
Tuesday on the back of rising US manufacturing output
and a jump in euro zone business activity.
Reliance Industries (RIL) after market hours on
Monday, 16 December 2013 said that echoing
consumer sentiments, Reliance Retail has decided to
discontinue its non-vegetarian food offering, 'Delight',
with immediate effect.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announces MidQuarter Review of Monetary Policy for 2013-14
tomorrow, 18 December 2013. The Third Quarter
Review of Monetary Policy for 2013-14 is scheduled on
28 January 2014.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares
worth a net Rs 159.55 crore on Monday, 16 December
2013, as per provisional data from the stock
exchanges.
The Bank of Japan (BoJ), which buys more than 7
trillion yen ($67.6 billion) of Japanese Government
Bonds (JGBs) every month in its bid to stoke inflation,
holds a two-day monetary policy meeting on 19 and 20
December 2013.
US stocks rose on Monday as a flurry of economic data
indicated solid improvements in business activity
across the country.
