GUIDELINES FOR GENRE
        WHEEL

 Set you goal as to how many books from different genres you
think you can read over the next 2 months.
 You must read the entire book.
 The book must be a just right book for you- not too easy and not
too hard. (If you are not sure, check with your teacher).
 You may read a book in another language. If you do then the
following one should be in English.
 You must conference with your teacher on each book (preferably right
after you have finished it).
 Conferences will be during library time or tutorials.
 Sign up for a conference.
 You may conference on only 1- 3 books at a time.
 You must have the book at the conference.
 It must be a book you have not read before.
 Enjoy reading different books!
WHAT COULD BE DISCUSSED AT A
              CONFERENCE?


 You may be asked for a quick summary.
 Information on characters- major/ minor characters? Would they be your
   friend? Why/ Why not?. Describe how they are similar or different from you.
 Information on the setting- time and place.
 Information on the plot- the climax/ most exciting part. Where is it? Why is it?
 What is the author’s theme/ message?
 Recommendation- who is the audience for this book? Give reasons for your
   answer.
                    Thoughtful responses showing deep thinking are expected!
