Randall Contracting the London civil engineering specialists undertook a large, complex project for Battersea Dogs Home. The project was complicated by the fact that the facilities were in constant use during the engineering project and that certain areas involved in the redevelopment were under a preservation order. 2. The brief was to redevelop dog runs and surrounding areas,
including improvements to the fascias of railway
arches, which were used as offices and storage.
The work also involved moving the mains drainage,
constructing a new car park, a roadway and flower beds.

3. The railway arches that we had to work on were the subject of a
preservation order and, therefore, Randall Contracting had to provide a
solution that did not involve destroying any of the existing brickwork.
Fascias were constructed for the outside of the railway arches and
fixed to the brickwork.

4. Access was maintained at all times for staff and visitors through
ongoing discussion with the Home management, and areas were
made available for exercising the dogs.
