The participants will discover more ways and
strategies on how library services contribute to
digital literacy for students, teachers and the wider
community.
The participants will appreciate the use and value of
e-storybooks as one form of technology that allow
young children and struggling readers to enjoy
books independently due to electronic features.
The participants will update their knowledge on
the different reading technologies and how these
support young, struggling readers in the different
areas of literacy.
This session introduces the importance of reading
and how it contributes to the competencies needed
by the youth in the 21st century. The issues and
challenges that educational institutions encounter
in making independent reading work for young
students will be discussed.
