are the key concerns to retain tourism potential of the town. Based on the study of the central area series of guidelines
for conservation of architectural and urban heritage, and restructuring and renewal of area was suggested to achieve
environmental and image upgradation. As a result of this study a pilot project of redevelopment of Municipal Market was
delineated to demonstrate urban design guidelines. The project was funded by HUDCO with Municipal Corporation of
Shimla was the client. Worked on the project in the capacity of an urban designer of a multidisciplinary team.
