or to prevent damage to property. The Physical Bravery Award carries a certificate and a cash
prize of Rs. 50,000 at the zonal level and Rs. 1,00,000 at the national level.
Social Act of Courage: These awards are given to individuals or organisations who
adopt a strong stance and oppose social evils such as dowry, child marriage, illiteracy and
address various social concerns like the environment, etc. in a sustained manner.The Social
Act of Courage Award carries a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 at the zonal level
and Rs. 1,00,000 at the national level.
Mind of Steel Bravery: This award acknowledges heroes who perform far beyond the
ordinary, in the face of many limitations and challenges, be it physical, economic or financial
and otherwise. The Mind of Steel Award carries a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 at
the zonal level and Rs. 1,00,000 at the national level.
The Amodini Award: This award encourages the spirit of women who help other
women become financially independent and help them lead their lives with dignity and self
respect.The Amodini Award is a special recognition award and it carries a certificate and a
cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 at the zonal level and Rs. 2,00,000 at the national level.
Social Lifetime Achievement Award: This award is presented to individuals who have
dedicated their entire lives to a social cause.The Social Lifetime Achievement Award is the
most prestigious of the awards and it carries a certificate, citation and a cash prize of Rs.
2,00,000 at the national level.

3. SELECTION PROCESS:
All the entries / nominations are to be attested by a gazetted officer and the short listed entries are further verified for
place of the incident, in person, and finally a panel of judges ranks the nominations at the state and the zone level
after which the winners are awarded at the zone level. This judging process is external to our organization for all the
categories except for Amodini Award which is finalized by internal jury/committee members. Three to four judges are
empanelled in each state to review and evaluate / rank the nominations / entries. The Zone Award winners go on to
represent the region at the National Awards later in the year.
A panel of distinguished judges select the “bravest of the brave” from amongst the winners of the Zone level Godfrey
Phillips Bravery Award winners, in all the categories. Then the winners are rewarded at Delhi at a National Award
Ceremony with cash awards and Certificates.
The panel of judges comprises eminent personalities including top-rung administrative service and police officers,
retired judges of the Supreme Court & High Court, renowned social workers and media personalities, Senior Officers
of the Armed Forces and other eminent socialites/personalities etc.
The judges rank / evaluate the nominations on the basis of parameters such as – personal risk, situational intensity,
selflessness for Physical Bravery Award, determination, foresight, perseverance, selflessness for Social Acts of
Courage Award, determination, foresight, achievement for Mind of Steel Award and determination, foresight,
achievement, selflessness for Amodini Award.
