This document provides an overview of the Public International Law course. It introduces the instructor and their background. It outlines the class schedule, office hours, policies on attendance and academic integrity. Grading will be based on quizzes, assignments, a midterm, and final exam. The course will cover topics like the sources and subjects of international law, states, territory, human rights, and the law of the sea. The purpose is to teach both the theory and practical skills needed in international law careers. The next class will introduce public international law and compare it to other areas of law.

4. Class Scheduling
• Day: Tuesday: 11-12 AM

7. Attendance
• I do not give attendance for any reason other than you actually being in class. This means that
absence due to illness, moot court participation, or participation in any other activity will not
get you attendance.
• You must attend 75% of all class sessions to sit for the final.
• If you believe that your attendance is incorrectly logged, please contact the attendance
authority, I do not have the authority to change the attendance log.
• If you are not in the classroom 5 minutes after the official start time, I mark you absent for that
day.
8. Interruption Policy
• Please keep yourself on mute when the class is in progress so in order
to minimize the background noises.
• If you feel there is anything you haven’t understood or have any
questions, please feel free to interrupt.
• If in case you feel you want to clear a doubt in person, please email me
and we will fix your doubt solving session.
9. Cheating & Plagiarism
Policy
• I will give 0 points to any student I catch cheating or plagiarizing on any assessment.
• I frequently allow group work. If you work with someone on an assignment, simply hand in
one assignment with both of your names on it. This saves all of us a headache.

13. Purpose of the course
• This will be a combination of theory and practice focused course.
• The purpose is to teach you the nuances of Public International Law, with a focus on the
types of skills you will need at a law firm or UN agencies.
• For each session there will be a power point presentation that will shared with you all after
every class. However, do take notes because power points may not cover our detailed
class discussion points.
