The document discusses the importance of investing in people for companies to succeed. It states that no amount of technology or innovation will help if people are not supported. There is a mismatch between 19th century processes and 21st century needs that requires a change in hierarchical mindsets to create room for new leadership styles. While companies are good at innovation, it is time to think differently about people and invest in their development to help them improve and stand out. Fostering authentic communication and a sense of belonging at work can help address issues like depression and break down internal conflicts by cultivating caring and compassion.

Tribute to Nelson Mandela: An Entrepreneurial Retrospective by Penina Rybak Penina Rybak
We are truly saddened to hear about the passing of Nelson Mandela, who singlehandedly taught present and future generations of children and adults what it means to be a self actualized human being, a thinker with self awareness of the essence of life and worth, and someone who practiced what so many just preach: stand up for what you believe in.
Nelson Mandela was a pilot in the truest sense of the word; for people in his country, but also for people worldwide.I think Nelson Mandela would have made a fantastic social entrepreneur, and an even better mentor in Real Time.I only have his virtual mentorship to guide me, his “voice” added to the many voices in my head, herding me on my own entrepreneurial journey. My CTA for more women to join the Entrepreneur Revolution, its sibling the Tech Revolution, and their offshoot; the social entrepreneurship movement.
This presentation provides insights about HR skills of future and how these skills can be used in order to achieve individual and organizational goals.

1. PEOPLE IN FOCUS
No amount of technology, backend systems, and processes, innovation in expertise will help if
people do not support it and so it is critical for companies to invest in their people.
Despite the technology advancements and innovations, we still carry a 19th century processes and
21st century needs. This is huge mismatch. Our hierarchical and feudal mindsets have to change,
create a room for leadership that understands virtual space, a leadership that can capitalize on
young talent.
We are good at innovation and we create quality products. It is time to think about people
differently and invest in their development to help them improve quality and make themselves
stand apart as winners.
A formal atmosphere is not authentic for informal sharing. Lack of authenticity in
communication at the workplace encourages dryness, thereby impacting motivation and
employee’s morale. People cannot be treated as machines.Depression, anger, agitation and other
internal conflicts can be broken through breathing practices.
Eventually, transforming the human mind by inculcating sense of caring, compassion and sense
of belongingness at the workplace will work as a key for companies to create informal channels
for flow of authenticity.
