1. DE-INTERLACING AND ENHANCING A
DIGITAL VIDEO FILE
Problem: De-interlacing is the process of converting interlaced video, such as
common analog television signals or 1080i format HDTV signals, into a noninterlaced form. Two fields need to be combined into a single frame, which
leads to various visual defects which the de-interlacing process should try to
minimize. De-interlacing has been researched for decades and employs
complex processing algorithms; however, consistent results have been very
hard to achieve
Solution: An...redacted...that monitors the de-interlacing of a digital video
file and uses ...redacted...from the results of asynchronous de-interlacing. The
invention maintains a repository to measure the results of de-interlacing
and...redacted…of standard de-interlacing results that updates autonomously
in real time. The invention autonomously alters its de-interlacing policies in
response to ongoing results. The invention thereafter enhances the deinterlaced digital video file by providing digital video data having a capture
frame size of at least 69,300 pixels per frame and converting the digital video
data to an enhanced video file having a convened frame of size of at least
69,300 pixels per frame. According to another exemplary embodiment,
2. DE-INTERLACING – cont’d
a method of de-interlacing and enhancing a digital video file includes providing
digital video data having a capture frame size of at least 24 frames per second
and converting the digital video data to a digital video file having a converted
frame rate of at least 24 frames per second.
