2. Writing a poem for Mr. Gibbs’ class
Is like a book by Sarah Palin,
It will always be trash.
Not worth anything,
Might as well burn to ash
I hope “decent” won’t be criteria
Or I’ll never pass this class
3. Pride is never a good thing,
Leaves no room for improvement
You’ll improve on nothing
And your skill will have no movement
No room for criticism,
No bonuses with your employment
Your mind in a prism
4. I’ve never met it before
But I know how it works
From the ceiling to the floor
Selling its act like a clerk
Am I right or wrong
Let it be the judge
I don’t think it’ll be upset
5. I have a poem
To write today
I have a poem
That can’t be made
6. What’s up with all the trees
And the grass on the ground
With all the branches come leaves
No praisers to be found
It’s a necessity for life
Oxygen from the plants
But no one even notices
Not a look; not a glance
All the beauty is around
It’s discretely profound
When you look at it closely
Everything is so sound
7. A man heard a roar in a ruin
And wondered what trouble was brewin’
He went in a cave
He saw something grave
He died with the gum he was chewin’
There once was a teacher named Ed
And no one understood what he said
He jumped out a window
His wife now a widow
Now everyone’s sad that he’s dead
