I’m staring at this empty page
and it seems like I get it started and can’t finish
I wish I was the poetry type
I wish I could translate my thoughts
into beautiful fluent rhymes
But no matter how hard I think,
The only way words get down on this paper
Is if I write the first thing that comes to mind
Dark monstrosities illuminating the silence
Come to bloom from the enchanting fragrance
Oh! Yes, please come hither hence
I can almost see the tiny black torrents
Upon thy brow a bug do sit
In intense happiness the weight do lift
Within the shadows, a whole hearty theft
And once again that little bug crept

There once was a man named Bob
He wants to be part of the mob
He acts tough in the hood
He acts like he should
But is dumb and he won’t get a job
Eaten by the infant was the scrumptious caper
Capers occurred as I was chased by the bear
Bear was my body and I could not wave
Waive the interest and the loan
Lone was I without the girl I was likin’
Lichen was upon the withering wood
Would that I were in the garden of Eden

The mountain top
So full of crop
I can’t believe you didn’t stop
I asked you once, I asked you twice
Please oh please I won’t ask you thrice
If I ask you thrice it’ll be nothing nice
I’ll turn your lake into shivering ice
You turned your back on the fruits of nature
For the rest of your life you’ll be sipping vapor
The soil breaking down layer to layer
I refuse to perform child labor
