2. ž Combine requirements & benefits from
different stakeholders into a budget-like
documents and infograph?
ž Set KPI for a city government to achieve?
ž Able to claim ourselves as Asia’s World
City for a longer period?
3. We can improve the environment we
live in, such as air-quality, while our
city’s soft power does not seem to be
making much progress and is even
declining according to CUHK Quality of
Life Index (Annex 2) and Monocle
Quality of Life Global Ranking
4.
5. Some fundamentals need to be satisfied.
&
a new matrix that we will care more.
It’s the vision of future.

8. ž How will people live?
• Living space redefined: we need to have a totally new
design of public housing. (e.g. how should people use
kitchen in 2030+? what’s the most efficient way to share
food to avoid wastage?)
• Elderly redefined: Hong Kong is aging, but not
necessarily a problem. In 2030+, many 70+ will be well
educated and wealthy. They will want to feel highly
needed and respected. We should have a clear plan to
support them to stay in their own community, which can
provide them with new roles other than taxi drivers or
receptionists at tourist offices. (Why a honey farmer in
TST?) We already missed a great chance for real
innovation in the past 10 years. We cannot forget them
again in 2030+.

10.
11. ž How will people work?
• Science Park Redefined:We don’t need more science parks when we see all companies in
Shenzhen are “Hi-Tech” companies. What we really need is more experimental zones for
advanced research such as smart transportation, new smart public housing to completely
solve sub-divided flats issues.
• Office Spaces Redefined: Don’t forget, technology like HD Video,VR, etc, enables home
office. How we work will significantly change. In China, doctors give consultation through
HD video and IoT. Father of RNN, Schmidhuber predicts AI can take up the role of an
outpatient doctor effectively soon.We also need to be aware of the current problems of
shopping malls in China.
ž How will people sustain health and well-being?
• Smart country park transportation system: Hong Kong is green! But we should reduce the
split between country parks and concrete. In 2030+, we should have a clear plan to make
country parks seamlessly accessible by zero emission, fully auto-drive enabled narrow
road system by 2030. Special care for elderly is recommended.
• Authorize hospitals to execute ‘10000 steps per day recommendation’ and make it the
largest incentive system in the world to encourage a healthy habit. While to reduce the
frequency of mini bus transportation frequency by using a new shared bike system. We
don’t need to know how long a cycle track network, we need to know how frequent they
use the bike for the last mile. Green, money saving, and healthy! New Matrix!
• West Kowloon Culture Area is our new hope.We need more space for small music
performance venues, small cafés & small restaurants by the harbor (Food truck is a good
idea!), small bookshops (we have no more now!!!)
12.
13. ž How will people share with IoT?
• We aim to have fewer cars, not more cars. (and fewer car parks for
more space for others)
• Shared Bike: shared bike parking space in all coming new planning is
necessary for last mile transportation in Hong Kong. Green, money
saving, and healthy! New Matrix!
• Park Redefined: Our land should be used to build less commercial
properties but more parks that facilitate local economic in order to
create a friendly and co-op community for new innovations. To enable
people to buy and exchange. Carousell is from Singapore! Why
Singapore again? Innovation must be well-known and supported by
local community, Instagram will spread out to the World. How can
people enjoy their life?
• Midnight good food stalls: because of globalization and technology,
people work in different time zones or watch TV series overnight.
Enjoying good food at food night markets with noise control (e.g.
Timeout Market in Lisbon) should be a new matrix for new liveable
cities.
