Editor's Notes
The most important part of the presentation is you. By making the slides complex and working hard to make it look nice won't make your argument stronger. Focus more on what you are going to say and not the slides just “KEEP IT SIMPLE”.
Limit the amount of text that you put on each slide because you do not want people to just copy the notes off the slide. You want them to be able to hear and understand what you are saying. Also with more text you will end up reading what's on the slide and people will not want to listen because they can just look at the slide.
When you have to much transitions the audience can get lost. So try limiting your transitions so that the audience can keep up with what your are saying.
The graphics on the slides should be clear to see so that the audience does not have to squint to figure out what's on the slide. Try using real life pictures. Avoid animated picture such as power point art.
Your chart should be easy to read and understand. Also your chart should be directly related to the information that you are trying to show.
Color is a huge part in motivating the audience. Certain colors can make the audience feel happy, sad, mad, or etc. know your audience and your colors to help make your presentation more persuasive and interesting.
Try to avoid using the same old powerpoint template that everyone has seen all their lives. Be unique when creating a powerpoint. One thing that people love the most when watching a presentation i seeing something new
Choose your font based on your slide. Also the fonts needs to be easy to read. Your audience should be able to see it with no problem.
Sometimes the audience is still won't be convinced or is having trouble understanding you. Show a video or play an audio to help get your point across.
Don't try to fit a lot of information on one slide. If you have a big idea and don't want to put it on one slide break it up. Make more than one slide for one idea. It helps others understand more when they don't have to rush to take down notes for that slide.
