Some have suggested that the animosity that existed between the Jews and Gentiles of the first century was every bit as severe as what we see today. However, in our text we will see that Jesus tore down the wall of hostility and gave the believers in Ephesus and new common identity upon which to build real peace with God and with one another. There could not be a more timely topic for our socially and racially polarized society today.
