HOW TO EXPORT A PRODUCT 
What to do to export? 
Exports of goods and services involves two substantially different procedures.

If, however, the product exported is a good, then the relevant information 
was obtained through the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), based on

1. LOCATION OF THE TARIFF Subheading: 
To locate the subheading of your product, you should consult the customs 
tariff, Decree 4927 of 2011. (It is important to clarify that the DIAN is the only 
official body authorized to determine the tariff classification, according to 
Decree 2685/99 Art.236 and Resolution 4240/00 Art 154 to 157 of the DIAN -

AUNAP (Fish and byproducts), Ministry of Environment (Preservation Fauna 
and Flora), Department of Environment (Wood and Seeds), ANM (before 
Ingeominas - Precious Stones, and Precious Metals Esmeraldas), Ministry of 
Culture (Arts, Culture and Archaeology). Some products are subject to quotas 
as sugar and brown sugar to the United States or bananas and tuna to the 
European Union, among others.
HOW TO EXPORT A 
PRODUCT 
CUSTOMS PROCEDURES FOR DELIVERY TO THE DIAN: 
Once you have the goods ready and as that term trading -INCOTERMS- used if the case, 
use a Cargo Agent (Airway) or Yacht Broker for the recruitment of international transport. 
Go to the airport and / or Avda. 68 No.22-81, Bogota, to request a password to the 
computer system of the DIAN to fill out the Authorization Request Shipping. Directly if 
their export is less than USD10,000 value. If it is greater than this amount, you must 
perform this procedure through a Customs Agency, as authorized by DIAN. This procedure 
must be done before the customs administration where it is to clear the goods, attaching 
among others, the following documents: 
1. Commercial Invoice 
2. Packing List (if required) 
3. Health Records or having Buenos (if required by the product) 
4. Transport Document 
5. Other documents required for the export product 
Once submitted documents and incorporated into the Customs computer system, this 
determines whether physical, automatic or documentary inspection is required if physical 
is done in the cellars of the output port, the airline or the place authorized by DIAN. After 
this diligence and if all is well, the goods can be loaded and shipped abroad. Made this

Export Declaration - DEX. 
6. PAYMENT METHODS

international payment instruments such as letters of credit, guaranteed drafts, guarantees,

7. PROCEDURES EXCHANGE (REFUND OF CURRENCY): 
Every export generates the obligation to repay foreign currency through the exchange 
intermediaries (Commercial banks and other financial institutions) therefore exporters 
must make the sale of foreign exchange to these intermediaries, for which they must claim 
and fill to the entity's Change Declaration form No 2. 
EXPORT OF SAMPLES NO COMMERCIAL VALUE 
- Any product that is exported by this method must comply with sanitary standards or 
relevant clearances, if required. The requirements for using this type of export are: 
- Development of Commercial Invoice or Proforma Invoice indicating the value for customs 
purposes and quantity. 
- Certificate of origin if required by buyer abroad. 
- Service of the Simplified Export Declaration (Code 610) in the office of the DIAN where it
