The Kurdish strikers decided to temporarily suspend their hunger strike due to the solidarity and support they received from various groups in society, NGOs, celebrities, media, and civilians. They believe this solidarity has created a positive climate that gives them strength to continue their struggle and hope for a resolution. While suspending their hunger strike, they will continue protesting outside government buildings and thank everyone for supporting their cause.

1. Stateless Kurdish strikers’ statement
We suspend the strike temporarily because of our appreciation for the
solidarity of the society.
The last few days, we have experienced the solidarity and support of a large
group of the society, NGOs and other organized groups, celebrities, artists,
media operators, and civilians. We believe that this solidarity and support has
created a positive climate, which gives us the strength to continue our struggle
and hope for a happy ending.
In view of the above, today, 25/5/2018, we decided that we will suspend our
thirst strike temporarily. We hope for a positive outcome through this climate
of solidarity and support for our struggle. We will definitely continue to protest
outside the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the
hunger strike.
Finally, we want to warmly thank all NGOs, organized groups, celebrities,
artists, journalists and other people for their solidarity and support in our
struggle.
