In a serene forest, a young Truth seeker named Ravi
embarked on a journey to find Enlightenment.
Guided by his deep longing for inner peace, he
arrived at a secluded monastery where a renowned
Buddhist master named Ajahn Nanda resided.
Eager to learn from the wise, the young Ravi
approached Ajahn Nanda and humbly
requested his guidance. The master welcomed him
with a warm smile and invited him to sit beneath a
towering Bodhi Tree.
(Ajahn Nanda)

As the sun began to set, casting a
golden glow over the landscape,
Ajahn Nanda began to share his
teachings. He spoke of the
impermanence of life, the
importance of mindfulness and
the path to Liberation from
suffering.
Amidst their conversation, Ajahn
Nanda noticed Ravi's restless
spirit, sensing his inner turmoil.

The master decided to impart a
profound lesson. He reached into his
robe and presented Ravi with a
delicate lotus flower.
“Observe this flower Ravi,” the master
said gently. “It is born in muddy
waters and yet it emerges untouched,
pristine and beautiful. The lotus
teaches us the wisdom of letting go.”
Ravi stared at the Lotus, captivated by
its elegance and the profound
meaning it held.

The master continued, “Just like
the lotus, we must learn to detach
ourselves from the turbulences of
life by embracing impermanence
and letting go of attachments. We
will find true serenity as the days
turn into weeks.”
Ravi immersed himself in the
teachings of Ajahn Nanda.

He practiced meditation, cultivated
mindfulness and gradually learned
the art of letting go. Over time,
Ravi experienced a profound
transformation within himself. He
realized that clinging to desires
and resisting change only brought
suffering. By embracing
impermanence and letting go, he
discovered a deep sense of peace
and liberation.

life lesson that true peace
comes from letting go of
attachments embracing the
ever-changing nature of
existence and finding solace in
the present moment.

1 Throw Things Away
Check heavy things and burdens we carry from the past
and throw them away.
Let go of our worries over the future or our complaining,
criticizing, condemning and cursing mind.
From a Post by Chew Wei Heng based on a Dhamma Talk by Ajahn Brahm

2 Be Content
Change our attitudes to: “I am happy and content to
be where I am” instead of
“I am dissatisfied; I want to be somewhere else.”

3 Giving More
Practice Giving, expecting nothing in return. The more
expectations we have, the less we can enjoy the things
we already have, the circumstances we are blessed with.
The more the expectations,
the more likely the mental dis-ease.

4 Have a Teflon mind
Do not let useless thoughts or knowledge stick to
our mind. They will bring you needless suffering.
Don’t allow knowledge and thoughts based on
Wrong View stand in the way of Truth.
