Introduction: Windows Live Movie Maker, as an important part of Windows Live Essentials,
offers a great way to preserve memories such as vacations or events into little movies. Thereby
you can post them on YouTube or Facebook or just play it on your own computer.
Before starting, check to see if Movie Maker is on your PC. Click the Start button, type "Movie
Maker" in the search box, and see whether it appears in the list of results. If not, you can
download and install it for free from the Windows Live Movie Maker website.
What you'll need:
1.Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit edition), Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit edition) or Windows
Server 2008
2. 1 GHz or higher processor for Windows 7 or Windows Vista
3. Internet connection
4. Graphics or video card (Windows Live Movie Maker requires a video card that supports
DirectX 9 or higher, and Shader Model 2 or higher)
Add images to your storyboard
If the photos were already on your computer, all you had to do was drag the ones you wanted to
put into the Movie Maker storyboard. You could then use the storyboard to rearrange all of your
images in the order you wanted them to appear on screen.
If your photos and videos are not on your computer, then you will need to transfer them to your
computer. To get started with importing photos and videos, in Movie Maker, click the Movie
Maker button, and then click Import from device.
Add music to your storyboard
If you wanted to add music to build your own images around, so you may click the Add music
button on the Home tab, which took you to your music library where you could find a song you
liked.
Add video to your storyboard
It has been discovered that you could add video, as well as still photos and music, to a movie. To
add a video clip, click the Add videos and photos button on the Home tab. Then you may add
some videos. You can easily see the difference between still images and video and music files in
the storyboard。
Edit your photos
After loaded your photos and video clips, you may tweak a few of them in the storyboard. For
example, what needed to do was to make a horizontal picture vertical. In this instance, just click
the Rotate right button on the Home tab to straighten your photos out.
Edit your video
If you are notorious for shaky video when you start to record, but by using the editing tools in
Movie Maker you can either start at a later point in the video or end the clip earlier as well.
To trim a clip, click the Edit tab, and the toolbar will guide you through the rest.
Preview your movie
Preview your movie at any time by clicking the Play button under the preview monitor in Movie
Maker.
Add visual effects
A lengthy procession of static images would be rather monotonous. Fortunately, Movie Maker
offers a bunch of visual effects to help bring your images to life.
Create cool transitions
Movie Maker offers more than sixty different transitions to choose from. To add the transition,
click a photo, and then click the Animations tab.
Bring photos to life with pan and zoom effects
Another trick of the trade is to use pan and zoom effects. With the pan effect, you can move across
an image, giving it movement that wasn’t there before. Zooming lets you zoom in and out on a
photo. To add a zoom effect, click the Animations tab.
Add a title and credits
Every movie needs a title and credits, and this masterpiece was no different. To add your title,
click on Title, then enter the text that you want to appear under the Format tab.
Publish and share your movie
There are several ways to share your movies:
Publish it on a website (such as YouTube).
Burn it to a DVD and watch it on your TV (though keep in mind that you must have a PC running
Windows Vista or Windows 7 to burn a DVD that’ll work on your TV).
Attach it to an email or within an instant message.
Play it on your own computer. (Note: If you choose this option, then you will need to save your
movie on your computer as well. Once saved, you can view your work by using a media player,
such as Windows Media Player on your computer.)
To embark on your own film creation, download Movie Maker.
