Baybars Altuntaş was born in 1975 in Istanbul. He attended primary, middle, and high school in Istanbul and then studied English Language Teaching at Boğaziçi University. While in high school, he began working part-time at a carpet store in Sultan Ahmet. After college, he entered the travel industry and learned about tour operations. He later founded Deulcom, the first franchising company in Turkey's tourism sector. Starting with just $400, Deulcom has now grown to have around 700 employees and $10 million in annual turnover.
