1. Guest Lecture on ‘Essence of timely decision making’
The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering organized a guest lecture on the topic of
‘Essence of timely decision making in large construction projects’ by Mr Nitin Sethi, AGM Strategy
& Policy Management of Offshore Oil & Gas EPC Business, M/s Punj Lloyd Ltd on 4 February
2016. The lecture was attended by 4th
and 6th
sem students of the Department.
During the interactive lecture, Mr Sethi gave the students an insight to the working of the
Construction Industry and particularly the problems faced by the EPC contracts during project
execution. The students were also shown videos and documentaries of actual site construction
works and the core engineering activities involved. The demonstrative videos and the talk by the
speaker enriched the knowledge of Civil Engineering students on the importance of timely decision
making. The session also helped them link their theoretical understanding with the practical
implications in large construction and EPC projects.
