 ATP exhibited ferric ion-chelating activity and ATP’s
antimicrobial activity mimicked by a ferric ion-
chelating agent pyrophosphate and metal ion
chelators, EDTA and EGTA

19. conclusion
 ATP exhibited combined effects with some antimicrobials
against methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and M.
intracellulare, suggesting its usefulness as an adjunctive
drug in the chemotherapy of certain serious bacterial
infections
