    •   Aligning Communication with PAG: What is PAG? Who is the final release authority? What’s the
        difference between passive and active communication? Find out the answers to these questions and
        learn how to draft a PAG. Led by LT Levy, C7F / LT Martin, NPASE. 45 min. (CDPAO, MC/PAS,
        MLC)

    •   Brainstorming session: How to maximize opportunities in 2013: Ways to build a unified Shore/Fleet
        Engagement strategy and focus of effort. Led by CDR Steiner, C7F / CDR Marshall, CNFJ. 1 hr.

    •   Captions!: From Vision ID to RELEASED, this course gives you the tools to write a great photo
        caption every time! Led by MC2 Dow, NPASE. 45 min. (MC/PAS, MLC)

    •   Collateral Duty PAO Checklist: This session gives a comprehensive overview of how to perform the
        duties of a ship collateral duty PAO. Release authority, drafting press releases and news articles,
        preparing the CO. Led by LCDR Applehans, CTF 70; LCDR Doss, CTF 73; and LT Bollinger, CTF

    •   Enlisted Detailer Brief: Status of the MC rating and a look ahead. Led by MCCS Smithyman, E-6 and
        Above Detailer.

    •   Getting Your Story Out: Discussion on the process of identifying coverage of stories and imagery,
        writing to Navy Style, and developing a distribution list to get your stories told. Led by Mr. Howard,
        CFAS; MCC Kulp, AFN; and MC2 Smolinsky, CFAY. 30 min (CDPAO)

    •   Imagery for Impact: Learn how to take amazing photographs that catch the eye and tell our Navy’s

        Component Commanders? Understand the mission and capabilities of NPASE and how they can help
        support your current and emerging public affairs requirements. Led by LT Martin, NPASE. 15 min.

    •   Overseas COMREL: Learn how to plan ahead to get funding for community relations activities. Led

    •   Pacific Stars & Stripes: An overview of the mission and operation of the military’s daily newspaper in
        the Pacific theatre. Quick hitter. Led by Lt. Col. Porter. 15 min.

    •   PACOM Brief : Led by Major Devine, USMC, USPACOM

    •   Port Visit 101: What to do to prepare for a successful media engagement during your port visits to
        Japan and other nations in the C7F AOR. Led by LCDR Doss and Mr. Helton CNFJ. 30 min.

    •   Theater Security Cooperation: PLEASE CHECK SECURITY CLASSIFICATION: There are three
        tailored briefs and discussions designed to increase the understanding of 7 th Fleet’s priorities and
