This amazing, 70,466 acre park was established in
1947, honoring a man who helped create more
National Parks then anyone, Theodore Roosevelt. This
park is in the Badlands, which are located in North
Dakota. This park has warm summers and cold
winters, in the winter it can get below 0 degrees
Fahrenheit!
The Theodore Roosevelt National Park has many
fun and exciting things to do. The Park has a cattle
ranch that Theodore worked on himself. Also, a
restored cabin he lived in as a rancher. Five
breathtaking places to go at the Theodore Roosevelt
Park are River bend and overlook CCC shelter, Oxbow
overlook, Cannon ball concretions pullout, Cap-rock
coulee Natural Trail, and Achenbach Trail. Historic
Spots here are Elkhorn Ranch Unit and Roosevelt’s
Cabin! When your fun and historic day ends you can
sit and just look at the amazing landscape.
This park’s amazing landscape was formed by
water and wind erosion. The park’s wonderful feature
is a scenic Badlands area, another National Park.
This 70,447 acre park still continues to change. Water
running down the slopes forms gullies while some

100 miles of trails in the park!
The Theodore Roosevelt National Park has over
15 different animals you can study including elk, feral
horses, longhorns, coyotes, bobcats, badgers,
beavers, porcupines, prairie dogs, golden eagles,
birds, snakes, pronghorns, bison, mule deer,and
white-tailed deer! Also, there are many different kind
of trees and plants in the park! Like
Sunflowers,Asters, and Rabbit-brush.
