1975 First use of explosion-proof LED indicators
1979 First US subsidiary in the explosion-protection

Explosion-protected fieldbus system

1983 The first explosion-proof CES plug and socket
system
1987 The world’s first fieldbus system ICS Mux for
hazardous areas
1989 R. STAHL becomes one of the leading
suppliers in the lighting market thanks to EXLUX 6000
explosion-proof fluorescent light fittings

Production at the new Waldenburg plant

1993 The largest fieldbus project of its time located
on a drilling platform on the Norwegian coast
1997 Acquisition of Electromach; listing of
R. STAHL shares on the regulated market
2001 Relocation to the new plant in Waldenburg
