- I have become a specialist in Restructuring High schools. Here is a sampling of my internship project
- I picked my time at Augustana one since it is so close to this campus but also because I credit a lot of leadership skills to my 4 years there. Leader in education .. Many people don’t try to accomplish 3 majors and 3 minors in 4 yearsLeader is Residential Life.. RA. SA, Desk AssistantLeader in extra-curricular activities. Newspaper, Student Council. CUBOM (Spike Lee) Started PEER which became BESAFE , the first rape hot line for colleges in the QC.
- Cold nightRA across the quad. The sirens went offWe were so well trained. We had practised the drill time & time. We had it down. We got our residents to safety. It was time to help the Ras t EricksonWe crouched down and crawled. We pounded on every door. The smoke grew fuller & fuller filling the hallwaysWe got to the end. All the students were safe. The smoke filled my lungs. The morning after, there was nothing left of the students stuffThe days after were filled with counseling, counseling the residents, talking to parents. The displaced students were moved to what is now the Hyatt. Life began anew.
- I bring to the table years of work experience which includes steady and continuous achievement, an unrelenting pursuit for knowledge, a compassion for children and people, and a belief that anything is possible through persistence and hard-work. Furthermore, my intellectual, analytical and critical thinking-skills along with my ambition to be an informational leader in the 21st century offers diverse theories, scholars, and methodologies. My organizational, preparation and excellent rapport with other faculty, staff and the students exemplifies my strong dedication and work ethic.With the additional academic training that the Doctorate program At Western Illinois University has to offer, I will be able to continue along my path by obtaining the skills necessary to build a safe and secure learning environment in which students will have the opportunity to learn and discover their journey. As someone aspiring to be an educational administrator, I hope that you will allow me to continue my journey at Western Illinois University.
