3. THE PRACTICE REQUIRES COMPLIANCE TO
LEGAL PROFESSION ACT 1976.
Failure to comply:
Will be regarded as misconduct and
render a solicitor liable for
disciplinary proceedings.
For example:
The Conveyancing Practice Rules
made pursuant to Legal Profession
Act prohibits a solicitor from acting
for both parties to a sale and
purchase agreement.
In practice,
When one party is not represented
by a solicitor, the solicitor for the
other party usually obtains a
statutory declaration from the party
confirming that the party doesn’t
require services of a solicitor.
4. IN ADDITION:
Conveyencers must have a fair understanding of
1. Housing Development ( Control and Licensing) Act 1966 (Act 118)
and its subsequent amendment;
2. Housing Development ( Control and Licensing) Regulations 1989
and its subsequent ammendments;
3. Strata Titles Act 1985 and its subsequent ammendments;
4. Building and Common Property (Maintainence and Management)
Act 2007.
