This document summarizes Melissa Saunders' opinions on various emerging technologies. She finds Twitter, Google Drive, Flickr and Facebook to be her favorite applications. Twitter is easy to use and a way to connect with others. Google Drive is convenient for sharing files. Flickr is good for sharing and geotagging photos. Facebook is her top social media as most friends are there and she uses it for her business page. She indicates she will not use Wikipedia for editing, Delicious is too complicated, and she does not like news applications like Alltop, Reuters and podcasts like Diggnation.
2. TWITTER
Twitter is a lot easier to use than I originally thought,
which is why I never really got into it. I like that it is a
great way to connect with friends as well as a place
to make new friends that share things in common
with myself.
3. This was and will continue to be my favorite new technology application. It’s nice to have a place where I can go and journal
about my hair-bow business for my customers, friends, and family to follow. I like that I can link to outside favorite Websites. I also like
that I can add pictures and video!
BLOGGER
4. GOOGLE DRIVE
I like how easy this is to share files with others. I really
enjoyed sharing and adding to each others stories. I
also like how this can be an editing tool when I may
need someone to look over some writing.
5. This was a very fun assignment. I love sharing photos and this was a convenient place to upload and share them. I like that the
pictures can be geotagged so when I travel I can have a location on my photos. I also like that the pictures can be tagged
because people who are searching for something in particular can see it.
FLICKR
6. FACEBOOK
I think Facebook is my #1 technology application for
social media. I have Instagram and Twitter, but neither
compare to Facebook. Most of my friends are only on
Facebook so it’s the best place for me to keep in
touch. I like the pages feature, which has allowed me
to create a business page for my hair-bow business. I
love all of the local pages that I can browse items
people are selling. And, I love the Facebook messenger
app on my phone.
7. WIKIPEDIA
I don’t think I’ll ever use Wikipedia again for editing
a wiki. I will look stuff up on there, but for me it’s not
something I look forward to doing. I’m more about
wanting to find the information, not taking the time
to create it.
8. DELICIOUS
I thought delicious was a little complicated. It’s like
there was too much information about too many
different things in one place for my taste. I don’t
think I’ll ever use it again.
9. Although Alltop is full of news and a great place for someone to go browse, I will likely never use it again. I’m not a fan of news
pages, I don’t even watch the news on TV, a lot of it is depressing. Once again, there is a lot of different information in one place
and when I browse I like things to be narrowed down more for ease of finding what’s most relevant.
ALLTOP
10. REUTERS
Again, this is another news feed that I will not use.
There isn’t anything wrong with it, I just pick it as a
least favorite of mine because I’m not one who
watches or reads much news.
11. Podcasts aren’t really my thing. This is another technology application that will not be used by myself. I apologize for running out of
things to say. There isn’t anything wrong with these applications that I’m listing as my least favorite. They just don’t appeal to me in
the slightest bit. That makes it hard to say why, it’s just unappealing to sum up my feelings to these applications.
