General AI
Artificial intelligence is the science of making
machines that can think like humans. It can do
things that are considered "smart." AI technology
can process large amounts of data in ways, unlike
humans. The goal for AI is to be able to do things
such as recognize patterns, make decisions, and
judge like humans.
 Birth of AI: 1950-1956Dates of note: 1950: Alan Turing published
“Computer Machinery and Intelligence” which proposed a test of
machine intelligence called The Imitation Game. 1952: A computer
scientist named Arthur Samuel developed a program to play
checkers, which is the first to ever learn the game independently.
 John McCarthy is considered as the father of Artificial Intelligence.
John McCarthy was an American computer scientist. The term
"artificial intelligence" was coined by him.
As of now, AI has not fully achieved the Theory of Mind
state. While AI systems can process vast amounts of data,
recognize patterns, and even engage in sophisticated
natural language processing, they lack true
comprehension of human emotions, intentions, and
consciousness.
 There are many challenges such as:
 Ethics
 Security
 Data Quality
 Lack of AI talent
 Infrastructure
 Legal Issues
 Privacy
 Data Scarcity
 Computing Power
 Etc….
 If it feels like the future of AI is a rapidly changing landscape, that’s
because the present innovations in the field of artificial intelligence are
accelerating at such a blazing-fast pace that it’s tough to keep up.
 Indeed, artificial intelligence is shaping the future of humanity across
nearly every industry. It is already the main driver of emerging
technologies like big data, robotics and IoT — not to mention generative
AI, with tools like ChatGPT and AI Art generators garnering
mainstream attention — and it will continue to act as a technological
innovator for the foreseeable future.
 Roughly44 percent of companies are looking to make serious
investments in AI and integrate it into their businesses. And of the
9,130 patents received by IBM inventors in 2021,2,300 were AI related.
 AI’s influence on technology is due in part because of how it impacts computing.
Through AI, computers have the ability to harness massive amounts of data and use
their learned intelligence to make optimal decisions and discoveries in fractions of the
time that it would take humans.
 AI has come a long way since 1951, when the first documented success of an AI
computer program was written by Christopher Strachey, whose checkers program
completed a whole game on the Ferranti Mark I computer at the University of
Manchester.
 Since then, AI has been used to help sequence RNA for vaccines and model human
speech, technologies that rely on model- and algorithm-based machine learning and
increasingly focus on perception, reasoning and generalization. With innovations like
these, AI has re-taken center stage like never before — and it won’t cede the spotlight
anytime soon.
 1. Reduction in Human Error
 One of the biggest benefits of Artificial Intelligence is that it can
significantly reduce errors and increase accuracy and precision. The
decisions taken by AI in every step is decided by information
previously gathered and a certain set of Algorithms. When
programmed properly, these errors can be reduced to null.
 Example:
 An example of the reduction in human error through AI is the use of
robotic surgery systems, which can perform complex procedures
with precision and accuracy, reducing the risk of human error and
improving patient safety in healthcare.
ZERO RISKS
 Another big benefit of AI is that humans can overcome many risks
by letting AI robots do them for us. Whether it be defusing a bomb,
going to space, exploring the deepest parts of oceans, machines with
metal bodies are resistant in nature and can survive unfriendly
atmospheres. Moreover, they can provide accurate work with greater
responsibility and not wear out easily.
 Example:
 One example of zero risks is a fully automated production line in a
manufacturing facility. Robots perform all tasks, eliminating the
risk of human error and injury in hazardous environments.
 24x7 Availability
 There are many studies that show humans are productive only
about 3 to 4 hours in a day. Humans also need breaks and time offs
to balance their work life and personal life. But AI can work
endlessly without breaks. They think much faster than humans and
perform multiple tasks at a time with accurate results. They can
even handle tedious repetitive jobs easily with the help of AI
algorithms.
 Example:
 An example of this is online customer support chatbots, which can
provide instant assistance to customers anytime, anywhere. Using
AI and natural language processing, chatbots can answer common
questions, resolve issues, and escalate complex problems to human
agents, ensuring seamless customer service around the clock.
Digital Assistance
Some of the most technologically advanced companies
engage with users using digital assistants, which
eliminates the need for human personnel. Many websites
utilize digital assistants to deliver user-requested content.
We can discuss our search with them in conversation.
Some chatbots are built in a way that makes it difficult to
tell whether we are conversing with a human or a chatbot.
Example:
We all know that businesses have a customer service crew
that must address the doubts and concerns of the patrons.
Businesses can create a chatbot or voice bot that can
answer all of their clients' questions using AI.
 New Inventions
 In practically every field, AI is the driving force behind
numerous innovations that will aid humans in resolving the
majority of challenging issues.
 For instance, recent advances in AI-based technologies have
allowed doctors to detect breast cancer in a woman at an
earlier stage.
 Example:
 Another example of new inventions is self-driving cars, which
use a combination of cameras, sensors, and AI algorithms to
navigate roads and traffic without human intervention. Self-
driving cars have the potential to improve road safety, reduce
traffic congestion, and increase accessibility for people with
disabilities or limited mobility. They are being developed by
various companies, including Tesla, Google, and Uber, and are
expected to revolutionize transportation.
 Perform Repetitive Jobs
We will be doing a lot of repetitive tasks as part of our
daily work, such as checking documents for flaws and
mailing thank-you notes, among other things. We may use
artificial intelligence to efficiently automate these menial
chores and even eliminate "boring" tasks for people,
allowing them to focus on being more creative.
Example:
An example of this is using robots in manufacturing
assembly lines, which can handle repetitive tasks such as
welding, painting, and packaging with high accuracy and
speed, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
High Costs
The ability to create a machine that can simulate human
intelligence is no small feat. It requires plenty of time and
resources and can cost a huge deal of money. AI also needs
to operate on the latest hardware and software to stay
updated and meet the latest requirements, thus making it
quite costly.
No Creativity
A big disadvantage of AI is that it cannot learn to think
outside the box. AI is capable of learning over time with
pre-fed data and past experiences, but cannot be creative
in its approach. A classic example is the bot Quill who can
write Forbes earning report. These reports only contain
data and facts already provided to the bot. Although it is
impressive that a bot can write an article on its own, it
lacks the human touch present in other Forbes articles.
 Unemployment
One application of artificial intelligence is a robot, which
is displacing occupations and increasing unemployment
(in a few cases). Therefore, some claim that there is
always a chance of unemployment as a result of chatbots
and robots replacing humans.
For instance, robots are frequently utilized to replace
human resources in manufacturing businesses in some
more technologically advanced nations like Japan. This is
not always the case, though, as it creates additional
opportunities for humans to work while also replacing
humans in order to increase efficiency.
Emotionless
Since early childhood, we have been taught that neither
computers nor other machines have feelings. Humans
function as a team, and team management is essential for
achieving goals. However, there is no denying that robots
are superior to humans when functioning effectively, but it
is also true that human connections, which form the basis
of teams, cannot be replaced by computers.
 No Improvement
Humans cannot develop artificial intelligence because it is
a technology based on pre-loaded facts and experience. AI
is proficient at repeatedly carrying out the same task, but
if we want any adjustments or improvements, we must
manually alter the codes. AI cannot be accessed and
utilized akin to human intelligence, but it can store
infinite data.
Machines can only complete tasks they have been
developed or programmed for; if they are asked to
complete anything else, they frequently fail or provide
useless results, which can have significant negative
effects. Thus, we are unable to make anything
conventional.
How is AI being used today? AI is being used in a wide
variety of industries today, including: Healthcare: It is
being used to develop new drugs and treatments, diagnose
diseases, and provide personalized care. Finance: It is
being used to detect fraud, manage risk, and provide
investment advice.
AI has played a major role in the digitalization of society,
as it has enabled us to collect, process, and analyze large
amounts of data at a faster rate than ever before. This has
led to the creation of new technologies, improved business
processes, and greater efficiency in many industries.
After all the talk, Let’s pay a look on AI (Artificial
Intelligence) In Pakistan
Is Pakistan even introduced to AI?
Is there any scope of AI in Pakistan?
The future of AI in Pakistan.
In 2018, an initiative was taken by the Government of
Pakistan when it opened the National Centre of Artificial
Intelligence (NCAI). It comprises nine research labs and
six universities in total. We can say that from using
smartphones to developing advanced ballistic missiles,
Pakistan has come a long way.
The scope of Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan is
not just promising but pivotal for the country's
progress. With a growing number of AI initiatives,
startups, and research institutions, Pakistan is
poised to make a significant mark on the global AI
landscape.
AI is also making an appearance in higher
education and research institutes in
Pakistan, thanks to initiatives by the Higher
Education Commission. While AI adoption
has already begun, challenges such as
economic restrictions, implementation time,
and the availability of technology-trained
personnel persist.
 Since the last 3-4 years, AI is gaining popularity really fast and being a
part of our daily lives. At this moment, 90% of the humans rely on AI,
Such as Business Man, People doing Jobs, Kids using AI for homeworks
and many more things. Currently, AI plays a Vital role in our lives and it
has many benefits. As said everything has a negative side so the same way
AI also has a negative side. People are really surprised that how can a
thing which benefits us can also be harmful to us. A real life example, As I
got to know about AI, I used to complete my homeworks from it and
everything. Soon I started to realise that it was completely destroying me.
The question which arrises is that HOW? My general knowledge started
to decrease, It was harmful to my vocabulary, I started to pay less
attention towards my Lectures as I was depending on AI completely. That’s
where I realised it was harmful to me and started to do my work myself.
 That’s Why we shouldn’t depend on something completely, It will cause u
loss sometime if not on the moment.

  • 13. Digital Assistance Some of the most technologically advanced companies engage with users using digital assistants, which eliminates the need for human personnel. Many websites utilize digital assistants to deliver user-requested content. We can discuss our search with them in conversation. Some chatbots are built in a way that makes it difficult to tell whether we are conversing with a human or a chatbot. Example: We all know that businesses have a customer service crew that must address the doubts and concerns of the patrons. Businesses can create a chatbot or voice bot that can answer all of their clients' questions using AI.
  • 14.  New Inventions  In practically every field, AI is the driving force behind numerous innovations that will aid humans in resolving the majority of challenging issues.  For instance, recent advances in AI-based technologies have allowed doctors to detect breast cancer in a woman at an earlier stage.  Example:  Another example of new inventions is self-driving cars, which use a combination of cameras, sensors, and AI algorithms to navigate roads and traffic without human intervention. Self- driving cars have the potential to improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and increase accessibility for people with disabilities or limited mobility. They are being developed by various companies, including Tesla, Google, and Uber, and are expected to revolutionize transportation.
  • 15.  Perform Repetitive Jobs We will be doing a lot of repetitive tasks as part of our daily work, such as checking documents for flaws and mailing thank-you notes, among other things. We may use artificial intelligence to efficiently automate these menial chores and even eliminate "boring" tasks for people, allowing them to focus on being more creative. Example: An example of this is using robots in manufacturing assembly lines, which can handle repetitive tasks such as welding, painting, and packaging with high accuracy and speed, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
  • 16. High Costs The ability to create a machine that can simulate human intelligence is no small feat. It requires plenty of time and resources and can cost a huge deal of money. AI also needs to operate on the latest hardware and software to stay updated and meet the latest requirements, thus making it quite costly.
  • 17. No Creativity A big disadvantage of AI is that it cannot learn to think outside the box. AI is capable of learning over time with pre-fed data and past experiences, but cannot be creative in its approach. A classic example is the bot Quill who can write Forbes earning report. These reports only contain data and facts already provided to the bot. Although it is impressive that a bot can write an article on its own, it lacks the human touch present in other Forbes articles.
  • 18.  Unemployment One application of artificial intelligence is a robot, which is displacing occupations and increasing unemployment (in a few cases). Therefore, some claim that there is always a chance of unemployment as a result of chatbots and robots replacing humans. For instance, robots are frequently utilized to replace human resources in manufacturing businesses in some more technologically advanced nations like Japan. This is not always the case, though, as it creates additional opportunities for humans to work while also replacing humans in order to increase efficiency.
  • 19. Emotionless Since early childhood, we have been taught that neither computers nor other machines have feelings. Humans function as a team, and team management is essential for achieving goals. However, there is no denying that robots are superior to humans when functioning effectively, but it is also true that human connections, which form the basis of teams, cannot be replaced by computers.
  • 20.  No Improvement Humans cannot develop artificial intelligence because it is a technology based on pre-loaded facts and experience. AI is proficient at repeatedly carrying out the same task, but if we want any adjustments or improvements, we must manually alter the codes. AI cannot be accessed and utilized akin to human intelligence, but it can store infinite data. Machines can only complete tasks they have been developed or programmed for; if they are asked to complete anything else, they frequently fail or provide useless results, which can have significant negative effects. Thus, we are unable to make anything conventional.
  • 21. How is AI being used today? AI is being used in a wide variety of industries today, including: Healthcare: It is being used to develop new drugs and treatments, diagnose diseases, and provide personalized care. Finance: It is being used to detect fraud, manage risk, and provide investment advice. AI has played a major role in the digitalization of society, as it has enabled us to collect, process, and analyze large amounts of data at a faster rate than ever before. This has led to the creation of new technologies, improved business processes, and greater efficiency in many industries.
  • 22. After all the talk, Let’s pay a look on AI (Artificial Intelligence) In Pakistan Is Pakistan even introduced to AI? Is there any scope of AI in Pakistan? The future of AI in Pakistan.
  • 23. In 2018, an initiative was taken by the Government of Pakistan when it opened the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI). It comprises nine research labs and six universities in total. We can say that from using smartphones to developing advanced ballistic missiles, Pakistan has come a long way.
  • 24. The scope of Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan is not just promising but pivotal for the country's progress. With a growing number of AI initiatives, startups, and research institutions, Pakistan is poised to make a significant mark on the global AI landscape.
  • 25. AI is also making an appearance in higher education and research institutes in Pakistan, thanks to initiatives by the Higher Education Commission. While AI adoption has already begun, challenges such as economic restrictions, implementation time, and the availability of technology-trained personnel persist.
  • 26.  Since the last 3-4 years, AI is gaining popularity really fast and being a part of our daily lives. At this moment, 90% of the humans rely on AI, Such as Business Man, People doing Jobs, Kids using AI for homeworks and many more things. Currently, AI plays a Vital role in our lives and it has many benefits. As said everything has a negative side so the same way AI also has a negative side. People are really surprised that how can a thing which benefits us can also be harmful to us. A real life example, As I got to know about AI, I used to complete my homeworks from it and everything. Soon I started to realise that it was completely destroying me. The question which arrises is that HOW? My general knowledge started to decrease, It was harmful to my vocabulary, I started to pay less attention towards my Lectures as I was depending on AI completely. That’s where I realised it was harmful to me and started to do my work myself.  That’s Why we shouldn’t depend on something completely, It will cause u loss sometime if not on the moment.
