2. Everyone! Men, women, and children
light the menorah. Sometimes only one
menorah per household is lit.

3. What is lit?
A menorah/chanukiah with 9 branches,
one of which is taller than the others. It is
called a shamash.
The shamash can be all the way
on one side of the menorah or
in the middle of the menorah.
Olive oil, other oils, or candles.
5. When do we light?
On the eight days of chanukah.
The candles are lit after dark.
The candles should burn for at least 30
minutes.
On Friday, we light the Chanukah candles
before Shabbat before the Shabbat
candles, and they must stay lit for at least
30 minutes after dark (bigger candles)
6. Where & why do we light?
Candles are lit on Chanukah to publicize
the miracle of Chanukah. Therefore,
candles are lit in a place where they are
visible to others: window sills, doorways,
outside, etc.
7. What do we do? How?
From left to right, every night starting
with the newest candle.
Use only shamash to light other candles.
