1. Three underreported problems of embodiment or emotional literacy Healing the Trauma of Abuse In my healing spiritual journey to embodiment, healing and transcendence I have encountered three distinct skill requirements or difficulties. These difficulties, understandings that I have found frequently missing in most psychotherapeutic techniques and spiritual practices are: 1) Being out-of-body, depersonalized, or dissociated. As they say, its all about location, location, location or maybe it’s a problem of relocation. What is your answer to the question, “Where are you?” 2) Being numb. Not being present in all body areas, A problem of being impenetrable or overwhelming Or what I call a problems of deflection. So how do we solve this problem? How do we get through the impenetrable walls within us? Persistence saves the day. See the last paragraph of this essay. And what is your answer to the question, “What areas of your body and you not aware of?” Or “In what areas of your body are you not present” 3) Being over-controlled and suppressive, oppressive of our life energy, of our emotional expression (internal knots) . This can be perceived as tension with our bodies. So the answer is we can decontrolling or releasing these tensions, internal knots. Become aware of internal holding or tensions. “Release” these tensions. “ We have met the enemy and he is us”.
