• 4 Managers, 4 ways of running the floor 
• Money to be made, not being made 
• Servers are not making the most amount of money possible 
• No floor plan guide lines 
• Restaurant is not running as efficiently as possible 
• Lack of communication in the floor plan
The “Opportunity” 
• I currently Work at Brick House Tavern & Tap in Clearwater, Fl 
• I am creating a proposal that will help the restaurant run more 
efficiently 
• I believe the more efficient, the more money to be made 
• Efficiency = Money 
• I will be in contact with the General Manager Mark Maurer 
• He will be my main source of information and key stakeholder
The “Goal” of the Proposal 
• To help the restaurant run more smoothly 
• To help the restaurant run more efficiently 
• To help the employees (servers) make money 
• Create an efficient way, that all managers agree and believe 
• To bring a sense of newness and keep things fresh
Audience Analysis 
• For this assignment my main audience will be Mark Maurer. 
• He will be the final decision maker of my proposal. 
• He as well as the other managers are all in need of and open to a 
more efficient floor plan. 
• I will be contacting Mark and other managers mostly through face to 
face contact and some phone calls and emails
Risk Factors 
• May not work 
• Equal employee’s frown upon 
• Managers may not like the idea 
• Employees may not like the idea
Benefits 
• Restaurant will run more smoothly 
• Restaurant will run more efficiently 
• Servers will make more money 
• Proper restaurant clean-up 
• Customers will be better served
Alternatives 
• Managers come up with their own idea 
• Keep the same 
• Come together as a whole to create an idea
