“A lot of folks talk about the state of the world today but never take
the time out to change the problems. Mercy Home has shown me
I can, one step at a time.”
 — Traci, Mercy Home tutor

We believe education enables children to escape the cycle of poverty and broadens
their opportunities and their horizons. From the moment our young people enter
Mercy Home they are given educational support through our dedicated full-time
youth advocates and a volunteer army of nearly 200 tutors who work with them
one-on-one.

We support our young people’s education by providing them with volunteer tutors
four nights every week. Each volunteer spends one hour per week during the school
year helping our kids with homework and encouraging good educational skills.

As Mercy Home continues to grow, so does our need for volunteer tutors to work
with our young people. You can become a tutor today and start giving a child tools
to build a better tomorrow. Apply now—just one hour a week can make a lifetime of
difference and put a child on the road to success.
Tutoring takes place at both our girls home Please consider becoming a tutor at Mercy Home for
