Rachel Fräulen, the Headmistress of Magical Square, conducts a trial practice of the card game with the reader. She instructs the reader to create a magic scroll using paper and pencil to record card draws consisting of numbers 1 through 6 and stars. The goal is to circle groups of identical or consecutive numbers drawn. Over 15 turns, points are scored based on circled groups and deducted for blank spaces on the scroll. Rachel provides an example of her own scoring to demonstrate how to calculate the final score. She invites the reader to join Magical Square if they enjoyed the trial practice of the magical game.
3. How can I conduct it although we are not in the same place?
It’s not so hard. It’s same as a card magic in a TV show for
viewers.
4. Anyway, you need a magic scroll for the practice, but I’m
sure that it’s annoying to print it out now, please make a
temporary magic scroll with paper and pencil.
6. Are you ready? You will remember the basic rule if you watched the
tutorial, but I’ll teach you one more time. After I draw 3 cards from the
deck, which is composed with three of 1 through 6 and a ★ each, you
should record them in your magic square.
7. You can record it in any direction, left to right, right to left, up
to down, down to up, as long as it is recorded in a row. But
you can’t change the order of numbers. For example, you can
record 1, 2, 3, as 3, 2, 1, but 1, 3, 2 is prohibited.
8. After recording, if there are three or more identical or
continuous numbers arrayed in a row, you can circle them.
You can circle one single group at a time, and ★ could be
considered as any number except 0.
9. Each element is allowed to be circled twice, once in
horizontal and once in vertical. But you are not allowed to
circle horizontally twice, or vertically.
10. If you circle ★ for the second time, you may consider it as a
different number from the first time. How useful it is!
11. This is main phase. If you have circled in the main phase,
you can participate in bonus phase.
12. In the bonus phase, I’ll draw two more elements. You are allowed to
choose and record one of them. And if you recorded it, you can
circle again just as we circled in the main phase. The bonus elements are
given only once, even if you circled in the bonus phase.
13. If you canceled and didn’t record the element given in the
bonus phase, you are not allowed to circle.
14. By the way, do you remember about the cancellation? You
have two chances of canceling, and if you cancel an element,
you can consider it as if it weren’t drawn. If you cancel 3 from
5, 3, 4, you may record only 5 and 4.
15. For your reference, I recommend using one cancellation for
making a long sequence at the beginning, and the other for
recording in narrow squares at the last.
16. This trial will end when you are not able to record the three
elements drawn at the main phase in your magic square.
17. After the practice ends, each student calculates their own
score. 10 points for each circle of three squares, 15 for four
squares, 25 for five, 40 for six, and 60 for seven.
18. And 5 points will be deducted for each blank square.
19. Award for each subject should be compared with other
students, but since we are not able to do it now, I will give 10
points for each subject you’ve circled.
20. I’ll skip the abilities for this time. I’m sorry, but you might
think this academy is boring if I teach you everything from the
beginning (Laughs).
21. This trial will proceed for 15 turns, and I'll draw bonus elements at every
turn because I don’t know who have circled and have to take the bonus.
Don’t forget that you are not allowed to record bonus elements unless
you’ve circled at the main phase.
26. Turn 2 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed
to record one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to
circle once more.
28. Turn 3 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed
to record one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to
circle once more.
30. Turn 4 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed
to record one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to
circle once more.
32. Turn 5 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed
to record one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to
circle once more.
36. Turn 7 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
37. Turn 8 Main:
Don’t worry about exceeding the boxes of
the achievement row. There’s no limit for the number of
check.
38. Turn 8 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
40. Turn 9 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
42. Turn 10 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
43. Turn 11 Main:
It’s later stage from now on. Be careful, the practice could end before
you check all the possible group if you put off the check.
44. Turn 11 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
46. Turn 12 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
48. Turn 13 Bonus
Only the students who circled at the main phase are allowed to record
one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.
50. Turn 14 Bonus

one of them! If you’ve recorded, you are allowed to circle once more.

hope to see you soon. Good bye.
