APPEARANCE CAN BE DECEIVING
• The next piece is titled appearance can be
deceiving and it is an instillation piece of more
of her corsets, her prosthetic leg, and crunches to
assist her while walking.
• It is very similar to the initial piece just on a
broader spectrum.
• While she was suffering through a lot Frida
made sure to throw her twist on things for
example on her prosthetic leg you has her red
boot with Chinese symbols.
• With this piece the placement in where it stood
in the line up play a key role as it got an
individual to really be grateful for what they
have.

INTERPRETATION
• I found this exhibit to truly be a journey, with in itself.
• As it took us through the her most tender and tragic
moments exposing her to us in a way that which the
world knew of, but never seen on such a personal level.
• To taking us to her most glorious moment in which she
got talked about through generations a we will always
remember her.
• As her work was often to be perceived as metaphoric,
this exhibit to was analogic by not only telling the
story of her life, but showing it to you from when she
was a child to the woman she was.
• This exhibit relates to the real world, just simply by
showing you that one person is not defined by their
disability, but they can define who they are themselves.

EVALUATION
• Overall I feel this was a success from the layout to the
installment and pieces incorporation. The layout
providing a person with the emotional journey. For
example providing you with the childhood picture, then
showing you Frida’s assistive gear, all leading up to her
glorious outfits and clothing. Truly an aspiring journey.
• I would like others who are going into the is exhibit to go
in with an open mind and a understanding of who Frida
Kahlo was, because going in with a closed is easy to
misinterpret her disabilities for something else.
• This work is original not only because one of Mexico’s
Famous Artist wore it, but because and individual who
was not afraid of her disabilities and was able to embrace
everything she truly was designed and wore everything
there.
