1. The Three Little Birds
and the Big Bad Cat

2. Once upon a time, very
long ago, in a very, very
big field, there lived three
little birds. They had built
their own houses but they
had to beware the big bad
cat. They were very
careful.

3. The first bird made a
grass house. The big bad
cat arrived and blew the
house down. Without
saying anything, the bird
flew really fast to the
next house. The bird was
a blur.

4. The second bird made a
stick house. The big bad
cat came and blew the
house down. The two
birds rushed to the next
house. They were a blur.

5. The third bird made a
house of hard clay. The
cat came but when he
blew the house, it
wouldn't move. The cat
went away.

6. The next day the cat
came back with another
plan. He was going to go
down the chimney. The
cat was too big for the
chimney. His paw would
fit. The third bird put a
pot of boiling water at the
chimney. The cat burned
his hand and ran away.
The birds were very happy
and they never got
disturbed by a cat again.
The birds lived happily
ever after.
