2. Bible Passage:
He has showed you, O man, what is good
and what does the Lord require of you? To
act justly and to love mercy and to walk
humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8
3. ❖It is said that good is relative.
Colloquially, the term relative means
different for different people or
situations.
❖We must not forget that God wants and
requires the ultimate good. Micah 4:8 (NIV)
He has showed you, O man, what is good
and what does the Lord require of you? To
act justly and to love mercy and to walk
4. ❑The Bible teaches us about this truth in
Matthew 5:6. “In the same way, let your
light shine before men, that they may see
your good deeds and praise your Father in
heaven. Since the purpose of the society
should be good for all, and each one is a
part of the society, we must know what
characteristics we must possess so that we
can fulfill this purpose.
5. ❖ Before one can do good to others, he must
possess some important traits like respect for
others, patience, helpfulness, self control
and tolerance. These traits will help an
individual perform his duties in the society.
6. RESPECT FOR OTHERS
❑ from the mano to saying po and opo to our
elders, honorific words are part of our
language to show how we respect people.
Showing other people respect is a critical
part of maintaining important interpersonal
relationships. Learning to respect people’s
efforts, abilities, opinions, quirks help keep
you happy and successful in your
interpersonal life.
7. HELPFULNESS
❑the property of dividing useful assistance; friendliness
evident by a kind and helpful disposition. If you
describe someone as helpful, you mean that he helps
you in some ways, such as doing part of your job for
you or by giving you advice and information.
Helpfulness makes a situation more pleasant or easier
to handle or work with. People high in positive
emotionally, empathy, and self-efficiency are most
likely to be concerned and helpful and is expected that
they help out in the house and offer help to siblings,
friends, and relatives. We have the bayanihan spirit in

9. PATIENCE
❑ this is one trait of Filipinos that makes us resilient in
the midst of challenges and misfortune. Patience has
dispel fears of inadequancy and enables one to
harness and contain the energy of both fear and
enthusiasm; not run or hide from it, but to own and
concentrate it into a powerful force. Basically, patience
is really about having the inner strength to stick to your
guns, face your fears, repeatedly let go of internal
expectations, and have trust that it will all work out in
the end. When we rush around, we lose patience and
enjoyment of the moment. We also miss our own
individual melody and all the experiences, feelings,
and people which help create it.
10. SELF CONTROL
❑It is the ability to control oneself, in particular, one's
situation. Much as some would like, we cannot control the
weather so that it will not rain on our parade. We must
admit that there is far more over which we exercise no
control than that which we do. God does not require that
we try to control what is beyond us or that accept
peacefully, yield to and work our way through. Otherwise,
we could find ourselves "beating our heads against wall"
and driving ourselves into the psychological imbalance of
always seeing ourselves as victims.

12. TOLERANCE
❑Suggest a liberal spirit toward the views and actions of
others. It is also the ability or willingness to tolerate
something, in particular the existence of opinions or
behavior that one does not necessarily agree with. It is
also a fair, objective, and permissive attitude towards
those whose opinions, beliefs, practices, racial or ethnic
origins, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from
bigotry. When you practice TOLERANCE, you accept
another's ideas and beliefs. If you respect someones
opinions - even if you disagree or find them nonsensical
to you.
