We managed group dynamics, equipment, and deadlines effectively during the production of our thriller. We edited at lunchtimes and only made cuts when multiple people were present. I filmed scenes and edited footage using tools in Adobe Premiere to trim clips and insert credits. Health and safety was ensured through adult supervision and group sticking. Creative features like titles and sound editing made our thriller look professional while saving time. Research involved watching films, online clips, and production company information.

1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Evaluation Question 6
2. • We managed the group dynamics by everyone voting
for decisions in the thriller. This democracy made the
thriller easier to put together as everyone had a say in
what they wanted. We managed the equipment by one
member collecting the equipment after school and
then the same person taking us to the location. This
made sure that the equipment was safe as we reduced
the risk of movement from one car to another. It was
also more time convenient. We managed deadlines
excellently by always using our spare time effectively.
3. • We edited at lunchtimes to make sure that we
finished editing before Half Term. This allowed
us to start our market research way ahead
everybody else so we could make any changes
later on and allow us more time to edit from
our results. As sometimes we had to edit
alone, we agreed that we would not cut
anything without at least 2 people being
present to avoid any bad decisions being
made.
4. • I filmed the lift scene and some of the end sequence.
We decided what type of shot we wanted to do such as
a long shot and we would film it around 3-4 times. This
would give us more variety for when we edit. I edited
the envelope scene and other scenes in the adjacent
rooms which we did not use. This was due to the
length of the thriller. I had to use the razor tool and the
cursor tool to effectively trim down the footage to
make it look continual. This created a great effect of
fluency. I also inserted some credits by inserting stills
and placing them where I wanted. I then filled in the
names of who I wanted to place in that position and
set the time frame for how long they should remain on
screen.
5. • We solved our health and safety problems by
having lots of adults present which meant that
we did not breach our risk assessment. We
also stuck together as groups to avoid a
member of the crew getting injured from
dangerous objects. This was further
consolidated by holding the tools with care.
6. • Some features of Adobe Premiere allowed us to
develop creatively. By using the titles and making
them appear on the wall, it allowed us to ‘bring
alive our ideas’ as they were made real by the
technology. We were all elated that we could use
this as it really looked professional. Also, by
editing the sound by boosting the decibels, it
allowed us to use the real sound and not use
foley. This was very time saving and made the
thriller look more real.
7. • On the research stages, I watched some films
on Sky+ which I recorded such as Pulp Fiction.
I also used Youtube to look at certain scenes
as well as using other websites such as
artofthetitle.com to look at certain opening
scenes. I also used websites to find out more
information of our production companies. I
really enjoyed researching for our thriller.
