2. Limassol Carnival
The Limassol Carnival is a legacy of the
Venetians who ruled Cyprus in the 15th-
16th century. It is a celebration that
started from antiquity up to the present
day. These days the combined feasting and
dancing spree in children and adults. The
historical reference for the Carnival is from
Christopher Nirenberg, who visited Cyprus
in 1566 and reported that remained
impressed by the parades of the Carnival
where local nobility organised a great feast
where people danced, sang and
entertained.
